There’s big news in the home improvement world, folks! Empire Today, a company I’ve long admired for their customer service and impressive jingle (you know the one – 800-588-2300!), just announced a strategic move that’s sure to shake things up. They’ve appointed Brian Hutto, a seasoned pro with over 30 years of experience, as their new Chief Executive Officer.
Hutto takes the reins from Keith Weinberger, who’s retiring after a successful nine-year run as CEO. Under Weinberger’s leadership, Empire Today solidified its position as a leading provider of installed carpet and flooring for both homes and businesses. They’ve even been recognized for their excellence, receiving a spot on Forbes’ 2023 list of “America’s Best Mid-Size Employers” and the Better Business Bureau’s Torch Award for Ethics in 2023. Big shoes to fill, but Brian Hutto seems more than qualified for the challenge.
Hutto isn’t your average suit. He’s a proven leader with a track record of success in the home improvement and services industry. Most recently, he served as President and CEO of SageHome, a company he founded and grew into one of the largest providers of aging-in-place bath remodeling services in the US. That’s impressive, but it doesn’t stop there. Before SageHome, Hutto held leadership positions at Staymobile, Best Buy (where he led their Geek Squad!), and even The Home Depot, where he spearheaded their multi-billion dollar home services programs.

It’s clear Hutto brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table. Here’s what he had to say about his new role: “I’m thrilled to join Empire Today! It’s a company I’ve admired for a long time, and I can’t wait to collaborate with their amazing team to continue their mission of providing a convenient and professional home improvement experience for their customers.”
Weinberger also expressed his confidence in Hutto’s leadership: “It’s been an honor serving as CEO of Empire Today, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together. Brian is the perfect choice to lead the company to even greater heights. He has the experience, the vision, and a talented team to support him.”
The private equity firms backing Empire Today, Charlesbank Capital Partners and H.I.G. Capital, are also excited about the appointment. They believe Hutto’s leadership will propel the company towards even faster growth in the coming years.
So, what does this mean for Empire Today? With Brian Hutto’s experience and leadership, we can expect a continued focus on exceptional customer service, innovative product offerings, and a commitment to making home improvement an easier, more convenient process. It’s an exciting time for Empire Today, and I’m eager to see what they accomplish next!
